The movie is about a tap dancing penguin who can’t sing like his fellow penguins. That means we don’t get to hear him belt out ‘Gotta Dance!’ It also means that we find out what drives penguins insane like the one in Herzog’s Encounters At The End Of The World. It’s the humans taking all their fish. Believe it or not, the plot isn’t the problem the movie. The problem is the animation. It is distractingly bad. They seem to have spent all their time making the lead penguin look cute, then tried to do as little work on the rest so they could have massive numbers of penguins onscreen at once. I can’t recommend it.
